Tips for choosing the right diet for getting a flat stomach
Specialists often say the key aspect in getting a flat stomach is having a good diet. The problem is that most people don’t follow properly diet for some reasons and one of the most important of them is discipline.
Stick with a healthy diet and take the first steps to a flat stomach. Below are some basic diet tips to flatten your stomach.
1. Eat more fiber
You need to eat at least 25 grams of fiber daily, says leading researchers. Fiber, which is the indigestible part of fruits, vegetables and whole-grain foods, helps you flatten your abs.
2. Keep the carbs under control
Potatoes, pasta and rice are full of carbs. When you eat carbs, they break down into glucose, which is stored as glycogen in the muscles and liver. When glycogen is stored, it carries with it three times its own weight as water, compared to no water at all for protein and fat.
4. Watch the salt
Even a small amount of excess salt causes bloating. Choose fresh, natural foods over fast, commercial or packaged foods. Too much salt intake is also bad for your heart.
5. Eat light at night
Skipping breakfast or lunch and having the largest meal later in the day lowers your metabolisms (high metabolism burns more fat). So by eating light at night you will receive a double benefit: You will wake up with a flatter stomach, and you’ll also have a better appetite for a fiber-rich breakfast, which sets you up for a day of healthful eating.
